Four Potential Benefits of Medical Cannabis

Cultivation Technologies, Inc., was founded in 2015 by entrepreneurs Justin Beck and Rick Probst. Driven by a commitment to develop premium medical-grade cannabis products, Cultivation Technologies, Inc., provides infrastructure, genetics, branding, and technology to the legal cannabis industry. Research indicates that medical cannabis may offer multiple benefits, as explored below.

1. Pain management. Cannabis contains an active chemical known as tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), which possesses pain-relieving properties. Studies suggest that the THC in cannabis can help manage a wide variety of pain, such as chronic and neuropathic pain. One survey published in The Spine Journal reported that one in five patients at the Colorado Spine Center used cannabis to manage pain.

2. Decrease in anxiety. The cannabis plant also contains the active compound cannabidiol (CBD). Research suggests that CBD can positively impact the brain in low doses without triggering intoxication or euphoria.

3. Seizure reduction. Some clinical trials indicate that CBD may effectively reduce the occurrence of seizures in patients with severe epilepsy. In one large-scale trial, as published in the New England Journal of Medicine, nearly 40 percent of participants in the study experienced fewer seizures.

4. Inhibition of Alzheimer’s. Scientific studies show that THC may slow the progression of Alzheimer’s disease by interfering with the production of amyloid plaques, which destroy brain cells.
